about

The Boy II: Solastalgia is a album written and recorded in 2 weeks by Huey Jefferson. This project is the follow up to his debut album "The Boy" released November 9th, 2019. Solastalgia is the sonic embodiment of heartbreak, self-reflection, and sorrow. "I wrote this shit after I got broken up with, lost my cousin, and was hit by a fucking car. A nigga was at a an all-time low and decided to put what I was feeling into my music rather than sulk and feel sorry for myself. And this album is the end result of that". With by production from Earl Sweatshirt, DøøF, pis.i, nek. and features from Fly Anakin, Suave Dubois, and introducing Zhania, This album is easily Huey's most ambitious project to date. This is also the last official Huey Jefferson album, so enjoy.

UPDATED 10/30/22

I used to hate myself for making this album, but now i'm really happy I did. No longer feeling sorry for myself and finally moving on with my life. To the woman I made this album about, I apologize for everything that came with this project and I wish I handled it in a more mature way. It wasn't fair towards you to publicize our relationship ending and ultimately, I've could've handled the situation a lot better. I ultimately was only thinking from a place of how the project would affect me and that was selfish. I thank you for everything you or anyone i've met through you for everything you've done for me. You're a great woman, because of you I was able to grow as a person and I truly wish you nothing but success. From here on out, you won't be mentioned in my music again. To everyone else reading this, it's okay to be young and make mistakes, but only if you learn from them. Otherwise, you're just going to keep repeating them. Don't take the easy route. Work through your problems. Work to become a better person than you were yesterday. Just never stop trying to do better. Being selfish will get you nowhere, it isn't worth in the end. My god is it not fucking worth in the end. My favorite Smiths song is "I Know It's Over" from "The Queen Is Dead". Morrissey has a line where he says "It's so easy to laugh, it's so easy to hate. It takes strength to be gentle and kind." and man is that super fucking true. It takes a lot within you to do the right thing and be compassionate towards others but we're all capable of doing so. So when given the choice, please always do what's right. You're so much better off.
